Ingredients: broccoli, olive oil, salt, sugar, garlic cloves · 20 min cook time · 150kcal · ~₩4,400
Ingredients
1.5pound broccoli, 3tablespoons olive oil, 2teaspoons salt, 2teaspoons sugar, 2cloves garlic cloves, 1teaspoon crushed hot pepper, 0.5teaspoon ground black pepper, 1tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
1. Cut off the hard tip of the broccoli stem. You can use the whole stem if it's scratchable (not tough). Cut the broccoli into florets and stems, trimming any tough parts of the stem.
2. Place the cut broccoli in a pot with 1/2 cup of water. Close the lid and bring to a boil to steam the broccoli quickly.
3. While the broccoli is steaming, prepare the sauce. In a bowl, combine 3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of ground black pepper, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 minced garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon of white or apple cider vinegar. Mix well.
4. After about 10 minutes of steaming, the broccoli should be tender and vibrant green, with no water left at the bottom of the pot. Transfer the steamed broccoli into the bowl with the sauce.
5. Add 1 teaspoon of crushed hot pepper (optional) to the broccoli and sauce. Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated with the dressing.
6. Serve the Korean style steamed broccoli salad as a side dish or a snack.
