Pan-Seared Salmon
Ingredients: Wild Salmon Fillet, Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Olive Oil · 20 min cook time · 400kcal · ~₩17,900
Ingredients
300g Wild Salmon Fillet, 1꼬집 Salt, 1꼬집 Pepper, 0.5작은술 Garlic Powder, 1큰술 Olive Oil, 1큰술 Butter, 1큰술 Lemon Juice
Instructions
1. Select salmon fillets. Wild salmon is preferred for its health benefits and intense color. Ensure pin bones are removed from the fillets.
2. Season the salmon fillets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Garlic powder is especially good on salmon as it browns and toasts nicely at salmon searing temperatures.
3. Heat a pan (stainless steel, nonstick, or cast iron) over medium heat. Add a little olive oil; it should be shimmering but not smoking.
4. Place the salmon fillets flesh-side down in the hot pan. Cook most of the way on the flesh side to develop a delicious crust. Watch the 'window' on the side of the fillet for the color change indicating doneness.
5. Flip the salmon when the color change indicates it's cooked about halfway through. If using a nonstick pan, this will be very easy.
6. After flipping, you can drop in some butter and squeeze in some lemon juice. Baste the salmon with the butter and lemon mixture using a spoon. This creates a flavor similar to a beurre blanc sauce.
7. Remove the salmon from the pan when the 'window' on the side still shows a little raw in the center. Let it rest for a second. The skin can be easily removed after cooking if desired.
