4ounces bittersweet chocolate, 0.25cup unsalted butter, 0.5cup granulated sugar, 0.5cup light brown sugar, 2large eggs, 1tablespoon vanilla extract, 0.66cup all-purpose flour, 0.25cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 0.5teaspoon salt, 0.5teaspoon baking powder, 0.5cup semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Chop the bittersweet chocolate into uniform pieces and add to a microwave-safe bowl.
2. Cut the butter into pieces and add them to the bowl with the chocolate.
3. Microwave the chocolate and butter mixture in 20-second intervals at 60% power, stirring in between, until silky smooth.
4. In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar and packed brown sugar.
5. Add room-temperature eggs and vanilla extract to the sugars.
6. Beat the egg and sugar mixture on medium to medium-high speed until well dissolved and airy.
7. Pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the egg mixture and beat until well combined.
8. Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
9. Fold the dry ingredients gently with a spatula until almost combined.
10. Add semisweet chocolate chips and stir to combine.
11. Cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
12. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Scoop dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about 3 inches between each cookie.
13. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 to 12 minutes until the edges are set and the top is crackled and glossy.
14. Allow the cookies to cool slightly before serving.
