Indian-Spiced Pan-Fried Tofu

1block extra firm tofu, 1tsp garam masala, 1tsp ground cumin, 0.25tsp turmeric, 0.25tsp kashmiri chili powder, pinch black pepper, pinch kosher salt, 1tbsp nutritional yeast, 3tbsp cornstarch, 3tbsp neutral flavored oil
Instructions
1. Press extra firm tofu slabs wrapped in a towel with a heavy book to remove excess water.
2. Mix garam masala, ground cumin, turmeric, kashmiri chili powder, black pepper, and salt in a bowl.
3. Slice pressed tofu into half-inch cubes.
4. Add nutritional yeast and cornstarch to the spice mix and stir to combine.
5. Toss tofu cubes gently with the spice and starch mixture until evenly coated.
6. Heat neutral oil in a large nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat.
7. Add tofu cubes in a single layer and pan-fry for 6 to 8 minutes until golden.
8. Flip the tofu and cook for another 4 minutes until crispy.
9. Transfer to a paper towel-lined surface and sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
10. Serve over brown rice with raita, pickled onions, mint, and cilantro.
