Apple Fritters

3ea Granny Smith apples, 2tbsp butter, 0.5cup sugar, 2cup all-purpose white flour, 1tbsp baking powder, 0.5tsp salt, 1tsp cinnamon, 0.5tsp ground ginger, 0.5tsp freshly grated nutmeg, 1ea egg, 0.75cup sparkling apple cider, 1cup powdered sugar, 2cup oil for frying
Instructions
1. Peel, quarter, and core the Granny Smith apples, then slice them into small pieces.
2. Melt and toast butter in a pan over medium-high heat until it turns a nutty brown.
3. Add the apples to the browned butter and cook for 3 to 4 minutes, then sprinkle in a tablespoon of sugar and continue cooking until slightly softened.
4. Strain the cooked apples and let them cool down to room temperature.
5. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, ground ginger, and freshly grated nutmeg.
6. In another bowl, whisk the egg, sugar, and melted butter.
7. Add the cooled apples, sparkling apple cider, and dry ingredients to the wet mixture, and stir until just combined.
8. Drop spoonfuls of batter into 350°F oil and fry for about 2 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
9. Mix powdered sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, and sparkling apple cider to create a glaze, then drizzle over the cooled fritters.
