Instructions
1. Prepare piping tips such as 122, 61, 125, 104, 68, 349, and 127 for different flower and leaf designs.
2. Mix a little yellow food coloring and a drop of orange food coloring into a small batch of buttercream for the stamens and anthers. Fill a piping bag and cut a tiny tip.
3. Mix soft pink food coloring into a larger batch of buttercream using a toothpick for color control. Fill piping bags with gradient shades.
4. Fold additional confectioners sugar into a portion of buttercream until it reaches a play-doh-like consistency for the flower base.
5. Smear buttercream on a work surface, pat on a square of parchment paper, place a mound of thick buttercream, and pipe the center spiral followed by overlapping arcs to form the rose.
6. Cut the finished flowers using scissors and place them onto the cake.
