How to Cook Beans

450g Dry Beans (Pinto Beans), 2L Water, 1ea Bay Leaf, 2ea Garlic Cloves, 1묶음 Fresh Herbs (Cilantro), 0.25ea Onion, 1tsp Salt
Instructions
1. Sort beans and discard any debris or discolored beans.
2. Rinse beans well in a colander under running water.
3. Place the rinsed beans in a large bowl and cover with water by 2 inches.
4. Soak the beans for 8-12 hours, or overnight.
5. Drain the soaked beans and transfer them to a pot.
6. Add bay leaf, garlic cloves, fresh herbs (like cilantro), and a quartered onion to the pot with the beans.
7. Add fresh water to cover the beans by 4 inches.
8. Bring the water to a boil.
9. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 1-2 hours, or until the beans are tender. Cooking time varies by bean type.
10. Add salt during the last 15-20 minutes of cooking. Stir well.
11. Drain the cooked beans and use as desired.
