Ingredients
1bag Wheat seeds (feed wheat), 1garden plot Soil, 1as needed Water, 1packet Yeast, 1tsp Salt
Instructions
1. Plant wheat seeds (also known as wheat) in the ground. Till the soil to loosen it so the seeds can sink in. Throw the seeds on the ground somewhat indiscriminately, a technique known as broadcasting. Cover the seeds with soil using a rake.
2. Allow the wheat to grow over the winter. The seeds will sprout, and you'll see blades of grass. In the Southern US, lawns in fancy neighborhoods often plant an annual crop of wheat or rye on top of their normal turf grass for a vibrant green lawn in colder months.
3. Observe the wheat as it grows. The first ears (vertical stacks of seeds, technically fruits) will appear in spring. Be aware that heavy rain or over-fertilization can cause the wheat to fall over (lodging), making it susceptible to disease and infestation by pests like aphids.
4. Harvest the wheat when it is dry enough. This involves cutting the stalks and then threshing and winnowing to separate the grains from the chaff.
5. Mill the harvested wheat grains into flour. This can be done using a blender or a grain mill.
6. Bake the flour into bread. Combine the freshly milled flour with yeast, water, and salt, then knead, let rise, and bake.
