Ingredients
0.5cup Oats, 0.5tsp Baking powder, 1pinch Salt, 1egg Egg, 0.25cup Milk, 1tbsp Maple syrup, 0tsp Vanilla extract, 1tbsp White chocolate, 1tbsp Cocoa powder, 1tbsp Powdered sugar
Instructions
1. Add half a cup of oats to a small blender. You can use rolled oats, old-fashioned oats, or quick oats. Do not use steel-cut oats.
2. Add half a teaspoon of baking powder. This helps it to rise when baking.
3. Add a pinch of salt to round out the flavor of the oats.
4. Add one egg and a fourth of a cup of milk. You can use an egg, milk, or banana, or any combination of the three.
5. Add a touch of sweetness with maple syrup. You can also add vanilla extract to combat the taste of the egg.
6. Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender until smooth to create a cake-like texture.
7. Spray an oven-safe ramekin with cooking spray to make it easier to release the cake.
8. Pour the blended mixture into the greased ramekin.
9. Add a little bit of white chocolate to the plain vanilla cake mixture.
10. Bake in the oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175°C) for 20 to 25 minutes.
11. For the chocolate version, add half a cup of oats, baking powder, salt, a tablespoon of cocoa powder, one egg, milk, and maple syrup to the blender.
12. Blend the chocolate mixture until smooth.
13. Grease a ramekin and pour the chocolate batter into it.
14. Add chocolate chunks on top of the chocolate batter.
15. Microwave the chocolate baked oats for 90 seconds. Check on it and add an additional 30 seconds if needed. My microwave usually takes about 2 minutes.
16. For the vanilla version, add a frosting made from powdered sugar and milk on top.
17. For the chocolate version, add a simple chocolate icing made from powdered sugar, milk, and cocoa powder on top.
18. Enjoy your baked oats! They look and taste just like cake and are so easy to make.
